On April 19th, it was reported that Zhou Hongyi, Chairman of 360 Group, expressed his intention to sell his 9-year companion, the Maybach S600, and switch to a domestically produced intelligent connected new energy vehicle for a test drive. He asked netizens for recommendations and called out to domestic car manufacturers. Unexpectedly, the response was overwhelming, with quick actions from companies like Xiaopeng and NIO, who even delivered cars directly to the 360 company building.
In a recent update video, Zhou Hongyi expressed his difficulty in falling asleep after posting a video about selling his car. On one hand, it was due to not adjusting to the time difference, and on the other hand, because too many friends were recommending options. He likened himself to a mouse in a rice jar, unsure of which one to pick.
He stated: "Lao Yu (Yu Chengdong) and Li Bin have arranged for people to connect with me, recommending their proud works. Xiaopeng acted the fastest, and I was deeply moved. Since I didn't return to the office today, I hope to take a look tomorrow when I go to work." Additionally, the recommended candidate cars include the Jike 009 four-seater and the Yangwang U8, which pleasantly surprised him.
What's most amusing is that after the car-selling video was posted, two fans, one named "Wang Zhenpeng (phonetic)," posted a video saying that if Zhou Hongyi sells his Maybach S600 to them, they won't back down as long as he gives a price, and they will even give Zhou a free Ideal MEGA.
Another individual expressed a strong admiration for Zhou Hongyi, offering to purchase his S600 at a premium of 10% above market price. They also expressed willingness to provide their newly acquired Rolls-Royce Cullinan for Zhou's transportation needs and to gift a brand-new Jikexueyuan 009 at no cost.
In response, Zhou Hongyi stated in the video that he isn't particularly fond of pink but prefers deep red. He also mentioned his interest in experiencing domestically produced new energy vehicles rather than the Cullinan. Regarding the offer of a complimentary vehicle along with the purchase, Zhou expressed humility, stating it wasn't a fair exchange, but he would consider checking out the recommended Jikexueyuan 009.
