How will the "new blossoms" of AI flourish in the "Beijing West Intelligence Valley"? At the parallel forum "Industry Big Model Innovation and Development Forum" of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting on April 28, Zhou Rui, Chairman and General Manager of Beijing Zhong Development Zhiyuan Artificial Intelligence Technology Development Co., Ltd., and General Manager of Beijing Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Construction Investment Co., Ltd., stated that the Zhongguancun (Beijing West) Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Park is expected to gather 200 to 400 AI enterprises. The park will lay out AI application scenarios from six dimensions, creating a Zhongguancun smart and low-carbon park, achieving the intelligence of park space, infrastructure, industry, services, and operations.
Specifically, "Park Smart Connect" will provide the hardware facilities and operational environment necessary for the normal operation of the smart park, such as intelligent perception and management of park personnel, machinery, objects, events, and environment.
"Park Smart Control," supported by the smart base, enables information interaction in the park management system. For example, in energy management scenarios, it achieves energy consumption awareness, energy-saving control, and smart meter reading; in intelligent access scenarios, it enables biometric recognition, visitor registration, and remote elevator control; in smart service scenarios, it enables unmanned vending, unmanned shuttle vehicles, unmanned delivery, and unmanned cleaning.
"Park Smart Hub" will collect data from infrastructure and various information systems, eliminate information silos, schedule perception devices and control systems to perform application operations; "Park Smart Brain" can achieve real-time monitoring of the park's operational status, more effectively allocate public resources, and maximize assistance in various park decisions; "Park Smart Service" is aimed at applications such as park property management, intelligent transportation, environmental monitoring, and energy management, building a service system for smart and digital management of park scenarios.
The technology park will also establish a "Park Smart Shield" for the smart park, such as establishing a unified entry point, unified authentication, unified authorization, and conducting operation tracking and emergency response in areas such as smart sensing, network communication, computing storage, and data integration.
Currently, the Zhongguancun (Beijing West) Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Park has begun to take shape. This technology park is a key project jointly developed by the Zhongguancun Development Group and Mentougou District. The first phase of the project covers an area of 8.54 hectares, with a total construction area of 309,000 square meters, including 6 plots, 23 research and development buildings, and other supporting facilities, with a total investment of up to 3.9 billion yuan. By the first quarter of 2024, as a key project of the city's "Three 100" initiative, the technology park has completed the structural topping-out, and the second-phase structure and electromechanical engineering have entered the construction phase, with an investment of 42.34 million yuan. The park is expected to be ready for completion by the end of the year, with plans to open in the first half of 2025 and achieve full delivery by 2027.
In addition, it was revealed at the meeting that the computing power of the Jingxi Zhigu Artificial Intelligence Computing Center has reached 500P (1P is approximately equal to a computing speed of 10 trillion calculations per second), serving over 200 small and medium-sized enterprises and units, and has connected more than 600 artificial intelligence enterprises and units, covering various fields such as smart healthcare, smart cities, intelligent manufacturing, smart parks, and smart finance, continuously meeting the inclusive computing power needs of large-scale enterprises.
Furthermore, Zhou Rui disclosed that apart from the Zhongguancun (Jingxi) Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Park, the Zhongguancun Development Group is developing over 1 million square meters of space throughout the city, including the Zhongguancun Industrial Internet Industry Park, the South-Central Axis International Cultural Science and Technology Park, the Zhongguancun Leading Technology Park, the Zhongguancun Life Science Park Youth Apartments and supporting facilities, and the Zhong Development Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center, where more intelligent scenes will be implemented in these parks.
