On March 18th, in the latest batch of automotive registration records, the first car from the new brand Xingjie, jointly created by Huawei and BAIC Blue Valley, the S9, was unveiled for the first time. Shortly after, official images of the car were released.
The models declared are all pure electric versions. Many people are curious if there will be extended-range versions available. This matter was directly disclosed by Yu Chengdong himself. Recently, a blogger directly sought confirmation from Yu Chengdong, unexpectedly receiving a response. Yu Chengdong confirmed that initially there will be pure electric models, followed by extended-range versions.
Let's take a look at the Xiangjie S9, which bears a distinct family resemblance to the Hongmeng Intelligent series. Describing it as the "sedan version of the Wenjie M9" is quite apt, especially in terms of the headlights, which closely resemble the design of the M9.
Positioned as a mid-to-large-sized sedan, the new car measures 5160/1987/1486mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 3050mm.
The side door panels and front and rear fenders feature minimalistic line designs, complemented by concealed door handles and enclosed wheel rims, exuding a sense of stability and elegance. The presence of a roof-mounted laser radar hints at its impressive performance in advanced driver-assistance systems.
Not only that, the Enjoy S9 also supports optional electronic exterior rearview mirrors, along with many new configurations and features, some of which even surpass those of the Question M9.
Undoubtedly, the target competition for this car includes the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Audi A6L. It is expected to be priced around 500,000 CNY. In this segment of the market, domestic brands indeed lack a luxury sedan that can compete effectively.
According to the declaration information, the vehicle will come in two versions: a single-motor rear-wheel drive and a dual-motor all-wheel drive. The single-motor version has a maximum power of 227 kilowatts, while the dual-motor version has a front motor with a maximum power of 158 kilowatts and a rear motor with a maximum power of 227 kilowatts.
No doubt, the extended-range version's price is expected to be lower than the pure electric version, further reducing the entry barrier. However, judging from Yu Chengdong's response, it seems we might have to wait a while for the extended-range version to be launched.
