On May 11th, in early April, Yu Chengdong had stated on his social media that the Questioning M9 had already become the top choice for cars over 500,000 yuan, with production capacity still steadily increasing. He hoped to deliver over 15,000 units in April.
According to the latest data from Yiche's ranking, in April, among cars priced above 400,000 RMB, the M9 ranked first, delivering 15,139 units in a single month, surpassing luxury cars such as the Audi A6L, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi Q5L, BMW X5, and setting a new record for domestic car deliveries.
Out of the 15,000 units, the extended-range version was the main seller, totaling 13,088 units, while the pure electric version sold 2,051 units, indicating that consumer acceptance of pure electric vehicles still needs further improvement.
Interestingly, Li Xiang, CEO of Ideal Auto, once asserted that the Ideal MEGA would become the top seller with over 500,000 units, regardless of energy form or vehicle type, but this goal was intercepted by the "Wenjie" model.
The M9, a pinnacle collaboration between Huawei and Seres, even reached an average price of 550,000 RMB. This high-end model, dubbed the "Tech Car King" by Yu Chengdong, was highly popular upon release, setting a record of selling over a thousand units on the first day.
As of now, the car has accumulated over 70,000 pre-orders, becoming the sales leader and profit generator for "Wenjie" and even HarmonyOS Intelligent Travel. It is expected to deliver over 20,000 units in May, setting a new record for domestic car sales.
