XPeng and Volkswagen Announce Major Collaboration: Joint Development of Electrical Architecture for Volkswagen's Electric Vehicle Models

On April 17th, XPeng Motors announced the signing of a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Volkswagen Group for EEA (Electrical and Electronic Architecture) technology.

According to the agreement, XPeng Motors and Volkswagen Group will collaborate on the development and integration of XPeng Motors' latest generation electrical and electronic architecture into Volkswagen's CMP platform in China.

The jointly developed electrical architecture is expected to be implemented in Volkswagen's electric vehicle models produced in China starting from 2026. s_078043fd7455484287631043d78e217d.jpg Last July, XPeng Motors entered into a strategic technological collaboration with Volkswagen Group, with Volkswagen also making a strategic minority equity investment in XPeng. In terms of the technological collaboration, XPeng Motors and Volkswagen Group will jointly develop two B-class electric vehicle models for sale under the Volkswagen brand in the Chinese market. This collaboration will leverage their respective core competencies and XPeng's G9 vehicle platform, intelligent cockpit, and advanced driver assistance system software. Additionally, they will explore other potential strategic collaborations in areas such as future electric vehicle platforms, software technology, and supply chain cooperation.
