Recently, CNMO discovered a "Smart Ashtray Demand Survey" on the Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform, where partial information about the upcoming crowdfunded product is available. This smart ashtray is expected to be priced at 199 CNY and boasts "quadruple filtration" to remove harmful substances from secondhand smoke.

From the research questions, it seems that this smart ashtray may come in various styles, including minimalist pure white, black mirror-tech, metallic tech, and walnut wood grain. Its design differs completely from ordinary ashtrays, presenting a square-shaped body comprised of multiple modules. The top features a sliding structure with a space for storing ash, and the sliding module also incorporates three indicator lights. It's unclear whether there is any button functionality.
CNMO has learned that the interior of this smart ashtray is rather intricate, featuring multiple components including: a sliding cover start button, consumables chamber cover, ashtray body control board, battery, casing, activated carbon filter layer, water tank, fan, HEPA filter layer, water filter net, fan + duct, fan, and two plasma modules.
In terms of functionality, this intelligent ashtray houses three sets of purification modules, achieving a four-stage filtration process, swiftly breaking down indoor smoke odors and eliminating most harmful substances from secondhand smoke. Operation is relatively simple; a push to start, automatic shutdown upon completion of purification, boasting a "smoke-free room in 10 minutes" claim. The "plasma module" of this product can decompose small molecules such as amines, phenols, and sulfides found in secondhand smoke, thereby dispelling residual smoke odors. Experimental verification has demonstrated the removal of 80% of tar nicotine, 90% of smoke particles, and 70% of aldehydes from secondhand smoke, effectively eliminating harmful components.
Currently, it remains unclear whether this intelligent ashtray is a proprietary brand of Xiaomi Youpin or a third-party brand, but CNMO speculates that the latter is more likely.
