Even the official presentation directly contrasted the specifications and prices of SmartOwn's L6 with Xiaomi's SU7 Max, garnering significant attention.
However, this kind of publicity has also stirred up some trouble. A spokesperson for Xiaomi posted a statement on their official Weibo account, stating that Zhiji Company had incorrectly labeled key parameters of the Xiaomi SU7 Max during the launch event, causing extremely serious negative effects.
Xiaomi emphasized that both the front and rear motors of the SU7 Max are made of silicon carbide, ensuring excellent performance and battery life.
Xiaomi stated that it is perplexed by how Zhiji Company, as a subsidiary of SAIC Group, could make such a serious mistake. They questioned whether it was due to a lack of professional ability or intentional spreading of rumors to defame. Despite numerous reminders from netizens regarding this mistake, Zhiji Company has yet to make any corrections.
Xiaomi publicly stated that they urge Zhiji Company to immediately clarify the situation and formally apologize to the public who have been misled by their misinformation.
Later, Zhiji's CEO, Liu Tao, posted through his personal account, stating: "Due to incorrect research results on product information, there was a mistake in the information released at the press conference. The Xiaomi SU7, like Zhiji's L6, both use SIC silicon carbide modules for front and rear motors. Xiaomi SU7 is indeed a respected competitor of ours! Here, I sincerely apologize to Xiaomi Automotive and everyone."
However, Xiaomi Automotive responded again, stating: "We do not accept informal apologies made lightly by individuals. We once again urge Zhiji Company to immediately clarify publicly and formally apologize to the public who have been misled by them!"
