On March 30th, after the launch of the Xiaomi SU7, various test drives and tests have emerged one after another.
During the experience, some bloggers noticed that the rear window glass of the Xiaomi SU7 can only roll down halfway, making it a bit difficult to stick one's head out.
In stark contrast, the front windows can roll down completely. Why can the front windows be fully lowered while the rear ones cannot?
From the side view of the Xiaomi SU7, the doors exhibit a design where the top and bottom ends are narrow while the middle is wide. The narrow bottom part prevents the window from rolling down all the way.
This issue is not unique to the Xiaomi SU7 but rather a common problem among many compact sedans.
Due to the wheelbase constraints, compact cars typically position their rear tires right under the doors. This configuration leaves insufficient space inside the doors for the windows to fully retract, preventing them from lowering all the way down.
Some car models incorporate a larger triangular window in the rear, positioned directly above the tires. However, this window is fixed and cannot be lowered. With this design, the main window can often be lowered fully, but the Xiaomi SU7 evidently does not follow this design approach.
