April 15th News - Many Xiaomi SU7 car owners are curious: can the infotainment system connect to their mobile hotspot?

Xiaomi Automotive officials have responded definitively: indeed it can. After activating the mobile hotspot on your phone, navigate to "Settings - Connections - WLAN" on the central screen to find the corresponding mobile hotspot network and connect to it.

It is understood that since its launch, the Xiaomi SU7 has offered a complimentary one-year "in-car network service package," which costs ¥199/year after expiration.

Without a third-party network connection, users can enjoy basic functions such as map navigation, remote vehicle control, OTA upgrades, assisted driving, system application updates, and connectivity to XiaoAI voice assistant.

Additional network functions require the purchase of the "in-car network service package" or connection to Wi-Fi/mobile hotspot.

These additional network functions include: enabling Wi-Fi hotspot for other devices to access the network, downloading and accessing third-party apps (for streaming music, videos, karaoke songs, gaming, etc.), remote video surveillance in sentinel mode, downloading offline maps, among others.

Moreover, when a phone is connected to the car's hotspot, not only can it share the car's network, but if the passenger's phone runs on Xiaomi HyperOS, they can also conveniently control vehicle features such as seats, air conditioning, and music via the phone's integrated device center. 160dd95c-959b-4476-b0ea-3d81942b83c5.jpg
