On April 3rd, it was reported that the offline test drive events for the Xiaomi SU7 have been exceptionally popular, leading to wear and tear on the seats of the display cars.
According to reports, many netizens have pointed out issues such as peeling and swelling of the seat surfaces, sparking widespread concern.
A Xiaomi automotive store in Shanghai explained that the seats of the SU7 display cars are made of pure natural materials, especially the Max version seats, which are less durable compared to artificial synthetic leather.
A salesperson at the store explained, "If you choose the Max version with white seats, its material is not upgraded to Nappa leather but instead uses pure natural materials, which are less durable than artificial synthetic leather. With about five to six thousand people trying the display cars every day, this has far exceeded the normal wear and tear expected from typical household use."
Netizens have expressed their opinions, with many stating that while natural materials have their advantages, durability and stain resistance are the most important factors for general households.
Some netizens exclaimed that there are simply too many people visiting offline to see the Xiaomi SU7, which is indeed astonishing.
