On March 18, Xiaomi Civi product manager Hu Xinxin took to Weibo to announce that the latest addition to the Xiaomi Civi series will be named the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro.
This is a significant development, as it marks the first time that a device in the Xiaomi Civi series will feature a "Pro" designation. This suggests that the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro will offer flagship-level performance, imaging, display, and fast charging capabilities.
Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing posted at noon today, saying that he will attend the Snapdragon flagship series launch conference to be held in the afternoon with Redmi General Manager Wang Teng and Hu Xinxian.
Qualcomm may unveil the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip at the event, and Lu Weibing is likely to announce that the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro will be the first to feature it.
This is reportedly the first time Xiaomi is using a Snapdragon 8-series platform on the Civi line, making it the most powerful Civi model yet.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 shares the same lineage as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with a CPU consisting of 1*3.01GHz X4+4*2.61GHz A720+3*1.84GHz A520 and an Adreno 735 GPU.
Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's 3.3GHz CPU clock speed, the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3's CPU frequency is slightly lower, resulting in better battery life and thermal performance.
In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is expected to feature a 50-megapixel main rear camera and will adopt the same imaging co-branding as the flagship, namely Leica.
