On April 13th, Xiaomi Car App introduced its charging reservation feature, which raised a question: does it only support Xiaomi chargers or is it compatible with other brands as well?
Today, Xiaomi Car clarified: besides Xiaomi chargers, the charging reservation feature also works with mainstream charger brands that have been tested.
Xiaomi Car explained that charging reservation allows electric vehicles to start charging at preset times, avoiding peak electricity usage hours and optimizing charging schedules. This helps to stagger electricity consumption, improve power resource utilization efficiency, and in some regions, may lead to lower electricity costs.
In Xiaomi SU7's central screen and Xiaomi Car App's vehicle control interface, the charging reservation operates based on the vehicle's timer. Essentially, the car owner controls the switch, and as long as the charging station can supply power in real-time, charging can be reserved.
This implies that not only Xiaomi chargers but also mainstream charger brands that have undergone testing are compatible.
Additionally, within the Xiaomi Car App's "My - Home Charger" interface, there's a separate charging reservation function specifically for Xiaomi chargers. This function operates based on the charger's timer and is only compatible with Xiaomi chargers.
