Xiaomi appoints two female executives for the first time: they joined Xiaomi at the beginning of its entrepreneurial journey.

On May 8th, it was reported by The Paper that Xiaomi's founder Lei Jun announced new personnel appointments, with Xu Fei and Zhang Jianhui being promoted to senior executives within the group. Xu Fei was appointed as the Group's Vice President and Group CMO, while Zhang Jianhui was appointed as the Group's Vice President and Chairman of the Group's Procurement Committee.

Lei Jun stated, "They both joined Xiaomi at the beginning of its entrepreneurship and have made significant contributions in various positions over the past decade."

Furthermore, Lei Jun mentioned in an internal memo the establishment of the Group's Strategic Marketing Department, overseeing all brand, public relations, and marketing-related work within the group. This department includes the Group's Brand Department, Group's Public Relations Department, and the Group's Strategic Marketing Operations Room.

The internal memo mentioned the appointment of Xu Fei as the General Manager of the Group's Strategic Marketing Department, Xu Jieyun as the Deputy General Manager of the Group's Strategic Marketing Department overseeing overall communication work and in charge of the Group's Public Relations Department, reporting to Xu Fei, the General Manager of the Strategic Marketing Department. Xu Jieyun will also continue to serve as the Special Assistant to the Group's Chairman, reporting to Lei Jun, the Chairman and CEO. Wang Shiwei was appointed as the Deputy General Manager of the Group's Strategic Marketing Department and General Manager of the Group's Brand Department, reporting to Xu Fei, the General Manager of the Strategic Marketing Department.

Xu Fei will continue to serve as the General Manager of the China Market Department, reporting to the President of the China Region, Wang Xiaoyan. Wang Teng was appointed as the Deputy General Manager of the China Market Department and General Manager of the Redmi Market Department, overseeing the E-commerce Market Department and Retail Market Department, reporting to Xu Fei, the General Manager of the China Market Department. Xue Guosong, the General Manager of the International Market Department, will report to the President of the International Business Department, Lu Weibing, and the Group's CMO, Xu Fei. Li Xiaoshuang, the General Manager of the Automotive Market Department, will report to the President of the Automotive Department, Lei Jun, and the Group's CMO, Xu Fei.

It is worth mentioning that this is the first time Xiaomi has appointed two female executives simultaneously.

According to public media reports, Xu Fei graduated from Tsinghua University, worked as a product manager at Google, and joined Xiaomi in 2010. She has been the product leader of the MIUI team, rotating positions since MIUI 6. At this year's Xiaomi 14 Ultra launch event, Xu Fei was the keynote speaker.

In response, Xu Fei posted on Weibo, "Thank you to Mr. Lei and the company for their recognition and trust. I am honored to have been with the company since its early days and witnessed countless exciting moments over the past 14 years. In the future, I will continue to forge ahead with all my strength. Forever young, forever passionate."

Zhang Jianhui also posted on Weibo, saying, "Grateful to Lei Jun and Xiaomi for their trust and cultivation. Xiaomi is a platform that nurtures talents.
