On May 21st, blogger Digital Chat Station hinted that the Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra flagship models will all come with a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint solution, supporting unlocking even with wet hands.

It is reported that the Xiaomi 15 series will adopt the ultrasonic solution from Goodix Technology, based on Goodix's self-developed CMOS Sensor architecture and wafer-level acoustic processing. It boasts a superior signal-to-noise ratio, providing clearer fingerprint images and supporting rapid recognition. It can unlock seamlessly even with oily or wet fingers.

The principle behind this technology is to use ultrasonic waves to sense the three-dimensional features of the user's fingerprint valleys, ridges, and more, creating an accurate 3D fingerprint map. This method offers better security compared to traditional optical fingerprint solutions.

This solution utilizes low-voltage driving, significantly reducing sensor power consumption, simplifying hardware design, allowing for more flexible unlocking area design, and providing a more comfortable unlocking experience.

It is worth noting that Digital Chat Station previously leaked that the Xiaomi 15 series is likely to see a price increase.

During the Xiaomi 14 series launch event, Lei Jun mentioned that Xiaomi aims to produce better smartphones and will no longer be constrained by price segments. Xiaomi 14 will be the last Xiaomi flagship starting at 3999, with the next generation Xiaomi 15 expected to be priced higher. s_f67581a0ab824ff1b3dc3713b6efb6bb.jpg
