On March 21st, according to Tianyancha, Xiaomi Technology Limited's trademark applications for "Xiaomi SU7", "XIAOMI SU7", and "XIAOMI SU" have been rejected, and the status has been updated to "Rejection Notice Issued" and "Rejection Review Application Received."

These trademarks were filed in November of last year and cover multiple categories including vehicles, advertising, and website services. The reason for the rejection is currently unknown. s_3c594c51e5864e98b1e0410f2532e2d8.png

Besides the Xiaomi SU7, the company is said to have filed multiple graphic trademark applications for "MIEV," which are also pending.

However, while Xiaomi's previous trademark applications for its cars were rejected, the upcoming Xiaomi SU7 is already being seen with "XIAOMI" and "SU7" badging on the rear.

Additionally, regarding why Xiaomi's first car is called "SU7", Lei Jun himself previously provided an explanation.

"SU, short for Speed Ultra, represents high performance and is part of Xiaomi's DNA. Tesla says they don't make slow cars, and neither do we," said Lei Jun.

"As for how to pronounce it, Xiaomi also had serious internal discussions. In the end, everyone felt that it would be more intimate to call it 'Su Qi', like calling a friend by their name."

According to Xiaomi's official plan, the Xiaomi SU7 will be available for static appreciation on March 25th, officially launched on the 28th, and open for test drives on the 29th.
