World's First 5.5G Foldable Screen! Vivo X Fold3 Series Officially Announced to Support 5.5G

Recently, China Mobile announced the official commercialization of the 5G Advanced network (5.5G). It is reported that 5.5G is a transitional technology evolving from 5G towards 6G, featuring millisecond-level latency and centimeter-level positioning accuracy, making it more suitable for applications in vehicular networks, high-end manufacturing, and full-scenario sensing, among others. Vivo officially announced, "The Vivo X Fold3 series and the Vivo X100 series will soon support 5.5G (5G-A) mobile communications, ushering in a new era of terabit mobile communication together." The official posters jointly released reveal that the vivo X Fold3 series and the vivo X100 series will gradually begin OTA rollouts in April, upgrading to 5.5G networks. Following the upgrade, network speeds are expected to surge by up to 300%. Previously, vivo product manager Han Boxiao stated, "After April, everyone will enter the era of 5.5G," accompanied by a picture of the vivo X100 Pro smartphone undergoing speed testing. Combining with the accompanying image, the vivo X100 Pro phone being tested displays a "5GA" icon in the status bar, while the phone screen indicates a download speed of 3619.19Mbps and an upload speed of 160.75Mbps.

Currently, the download speed of 5G phones on the market generally hovers around 1000Mbps. This suggests a further upgrade in network speed with this 5.5G communication technology. Interested individuals may want to stay tuned for updates.
