On May 25th, it's no longer uncommon for accidents to happen during the charging process. It's advised not to leave devices such as phones and tablets charging unattended at home.

According to a statement from the Huai'an Fire Department, a fire broke out in a residential building in Qingjiangpu District, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province at 11:18 on May 23rd.

Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters confirmed that there were no trapped individuals and immediately used tools to break open the door. Once the door was opened, a large amount of thick smoke emerged from inside.

Firefighters promptly surveyed the temperature inside the room using a thermal imaging camera and provided cover using a water hose. Upon entering the scene of the fire, they discovered that the fire originated in the master bedroom. a384c8921d8c4a7ca381a61c149350ad.gif After the fire was completely extinguished, a thermal imaging camera was used again for inspection. It was confirmed that the fire was caused by a power strip charging and igniting the mattress.

According to the homeowner, she was at work when the fire started. She had left her phone charging at home around six or seven in the morning, not expecting a fire to break out.

The fire department reminds us: when people are away, power should be disconnected. When dealing with electrical appliances, any safety hazards should be promptly investigated. s_fa01fe7fb5dc4160981a15eecc38e7b2.png
