On April 17th, it was reported that Ms. Jin and her family encountered a large dog barking aggressively in the garage of a residential compound in Fuyang District, Hangzhou. They were so frightened that they dared not exit their vehicle. A video captured by Ms. Jin was later shared on social media, drawing attention from netizens.

After the security personnel of the compound arrived to drive away the dog, Ms. Jin was finally able to get out of the car with her child. It was later revealed that the dog was an Afghan Hound, a breed prohibited from being kept in the area.

Responding to inquiries, the property management staff of the compound stated that personnel from the Fuyang District Urban Management Bureau had visited the compound to communicate with the owner of the dog.

Officials from the Urban Management Bureau clarified that the residential compound where Ms. Jin resides is designated as an area with strict regulations on pet ownership, and Afghan Hounds are specifically prohibited.

Afghan Hounds have a historical connection to ancient Egypt, where they were kept by royalty for hunting purposes. They come in two distinct types: one with a tall stature and short hair, suitable for desert environments, and another with slightly smaller stature and long hair, ideal for mountainous regions. These dogs were once used by nomads for hunting gazelles, leopards, and other animals. s_37d5b1dfa1974b3dbdc6d5f23612575c.jpg
