April 19 news reveals that due to some car dealers' lack of honesty or expertise, consumers unfamiliar with used cars may not be aware of the true condition of the vehicle, and thus, are at risk of being deceived.

According to domestic media reports, in 2017, a woman purchased a used BMW from a 4S dealership for 270,000 yuan. The purchase contract explicitly stated that the vehicle had no accident history or flood damage.

However, when she recently attempted to sell the car, it was outright rejected because it had been involved in a significant accident.

The buyer provided an inspection report indicating that the car had undergone a major accident in 2016, with damages costing over 270,000 yuan and 124 repair records documented.

The owner claimed that her car had over 100 parts replaced, virtually everything except the roof, revealing that she had been deceived for years.

Afterwards, the woman approached the BMW 4S dealership to seek an explanation. The responsible person at the dealership stated that they would take responsibility for the issue, but needed time to investigate the sales details of the car.

Negotiations between the two parties are still ongoing.

This incident serves as a reminder to potential used car buyers to thoroughly check the vehicle's condition before purchase. If personally inexperienced, one can employ third-party used car inspection services available in the market. Typically, these services charge a few hundred yuan and offer a contract that includes compensation for any oversight in their inspection. s_cdca98f8b8b74eccbfe93f9648e3e09a.png
