In a recent NIO Long-Life Battery Strategy Communication Meeting held on March 14th, NIO's Founder, Chairman, and CEO William Li announced that NIO's second brand, Lüdao, will be unveiled in mid to late May. The inaugural model under the Lüdao brand is set to be launched in the third quarter of this year, with deliveries expected in the fourth quarter.
Li mentioned that the standard range version of the first Lüdao model will be equipped with a battery smaller than 75 kWh. Additionally, Lüdao vehicles will adopt NIO's Battery as a Service (BaaS) rental model, further reducing the threshold for consumers to purchase.
Previously, Li Bin hinted that the LeDao brand would benchmark against the Tesla Model Y, with costs expected to be around 10% lower. For users considering purchasing a Model Y, it might be worth waiting. Our car prices will definitely be more affordable, so think about how much cheaper they could be.
As for configurations, single motor, refrigerator, television, and a large sofa – everything users desire will be included in the car.
Worth noting, NIO's second brand's inaugural model will adopt a purely visual solution for its smart driving assistance, steering clear of reliance on lidar. It will be equipped with a single Nvidia Orin X chip, boasting an estimated computing power of around 100 TOPS, ready to deliver urban pilot assistance capabilities right from the get-go.
