On April 18th, Xiaomi Automobile released the latest edition of SU7 Q&A, addressing questions like "Why does the charging power sometimes not reach a sufficient level and fails to peak?"
Xiaomi stated that when the Xiaomi SU7 starts charging after connecting to the charging gun, the initial battery level and temperature both affect the charging power.
During the charging process, the temperature of the battery cells steadily rises. If the initial temperature of the cells is too low, the power cannot reach its peak. Additionally, as the battery approaches full capacity, the charging power decreases.
These are part of the intelligent charging strategies employed by battery management systems, designed to make the charging process safer and extend the battery's lifespan.
According to reports, when using in-car navigation to locate charging stations, vehicles preheat the battery to enhance charging speed, ensuring the battery reaches its optimal power state more quickly during charging.
Moreover, the battery management system of the Xiaomi SU7 Max features "atomized charging technology," which offers up to 50 times finer charging granularity to adapt to different temperatures and levels of charge. This technology can accelerate charging time by up to 9.8% and increase average charging power by up to 11 kW.
