Pulsestacks reported on March 30th that GSMArena, a foreign technology media outlet, recently interviewed Samsung's Vice President, Nicholas Porter, asking why Samsung chose to provide Android and security updates for flagship smartphones for up to 7 years. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0330%2F1da3828ej00sb5cls0070d0014000qog.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg Porter responded to this by stating that based on consumer feedback data, extending support periods could bring more value to smartphones, and that this value is sufficient to drive Samsung to prolong device maintenance and management.

According to Pulsestacks' report, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is the first to receive upgrades supporting 7 years of Android and security updates. Porter believes that the flagship hardware of the S24 series is capable enough to adapt to future developments and remains worthy of use until 2031.

Porter noted that users tend to prolong the use of their phones, hence extending system support by manufacturers is only logical.

Porter expressed that Samsung aims to provide users with a more secure and sustainable usage environment, ensuring smooth operation and continuously improving the user experience.

It's also worth mentioning that Samsung has currently provided 5 years of support for Galaxy A series phones such as the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A35.
