On May 10th, it was reported that Tim Cook has been serving as CEO of Apple for over 12 years. Under his leadership, Apple has reached unprecedented heights, but it's inevitable that he won't remain CEO forever.

Last year, Cook mentioned that he has decided to look for his successor from within the company and is currently presenting several options to the board of directors. s_7b67703cf8314444a213cc0378001cfb.jpg Industry insider Mark Gurman revealed that the most likely candidate to succeed Cook as Apple's CEO is the 49-year-old John Ternus, who currently serves as Apple's Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering.

Records show that John Ternus joined Apple in 2001 and has achieved remarkable success in the field of hardware engineering, including the first generation AirPods and various iPad models.

In April 2021, John Ternus was promoted to Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Apple, reporting directly to Cook. He is responsible for all hardware engineering at Apple, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and AirPods product lines.

Products like the iPhone 12 series and the M1 chip were developed under his leadership, highlighting his significant role within the Apple team.

Cook stated that John Ternus' deep expertise and extensive experience will make him a bold and visionary leader for Apple's hardware engineering team. s_1f2ea4dfa1d645b9ac84dbaa651456a2.jpg
