On May 10th, during the annual shareholder meeting of Great Wall Motors, Chairman Wei Jianjun discussed motorcycles.

Wei Jianjun expressed his personal passion for motorcycles, mentioning that he still owns many motorcycles. He started riding motorcycles as early as 1984, which was considered a luxurious activity at the time.

There are many motorcycle enthusiasts among the senior management at Great Wall Motors. When the company decided to produce motorcycles, they agreed on a vision:

To create a motorcycle that will make history, representing the latest technology in China, while balancing passion and profit.

Now, Great Wall Motors has unveiled its first motorcycle, which will debut at the Beijing Motorcycle Show on May 17th.

Wei Jianjun previously introduced the first soulful motorcycle from Great Wall, featuring the world's first V8 horizontally opposed engine and a self-developed DCT transmission. This power combination is ideal for touring motorcycles and will provide a fantastic experience for riders.

Reportedly, Great Wall's first motorcycle is positioned as a retro cruiser model, somewhat similar to the Honda Gold Wing GL1800. It is equipped with a self-developed horizontally opposed eight-cylinder engine, uses shaft drive transmission, and features a cast frame and double wishbone front suspension.

Realistically, in the current market environment, investing heavily in manufacturing high-displacement motorcycles is considered a costly endeavor. Apart from Great Wall, it is rare to find another domestic automaker willing to undertake such a venture.

However, it is precisely this dedication from Great Wall Motors that gives domestic motorcycle enthusiasts the opportunity to witness the excellence of domestically produced top-tier motorcycles. s_a40b9618619e4380a79ebec095c32640.png
