News from March 13th, today, the declaration images of Wei Brand's Lushan new car to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have been revealed, showcasing a comprehensive upgrade in smart driving capabilities.
It's understood that the Lushan new car is equipped with 27 sensing hardware components, including 1 top-mounted LiDAR, 3 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 high-definition visual perception cameras.
The laser radar is positioned above the vehicle, which is currently the mainstream arrangement, providing a better field of view.
Other perception hardware surrounds the entire body, offering a more comprehensive perspective. The fusion solution comprises 27 perception hardware components, and based on the previously leaked videos, the data fusion is exceptionally well-executed.
These components can be likened to the 27 "eyes" of the new Blue Mountain, enabling seamless, all-around observation of road conditions with no blind spots. They excel in precise identification of irregular obstacles, allowing them to not only "understand objects" but also "understand the road."
Recently, footage from an internal meeting at Great Wall Motors was leaked, showcasing for the first time the NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) video of its Ora brand's new vehicle. This video demonstrates the car's advanced autonomous driving capabilities, including successful navigation and obstacle avoidance in complex environments such as six-way intersections, busy urban streets, and rural paths, as well as pedestrian tracking.
Great Wall Motors' CTO, Wang Yuanli, responded that the video was an internal demonstration of their smart driving technology shot several months ago.
He said, "Our smart driving team is currently working around the clock, covering all scenarios. True map-free navigation is a must! An even more impressive city NOA is coming soon."
In December last year, Wang Yuanli also demonstrated the cross-floor memory parking technology on Weibo.
According to him, Great Wall Motors not only features memory parking but also cross-floor memory parking, supporting functionalities like meeting and avoiding cars, recognizing speed bumps, yielding to pedestrians, avoiding cones, and automatic parking. The system can handle path lengths up to 3 kilometers and store over 200+ paths.
It is understood that the new Blue Mountain vehicle, equipped with multi-sensor fusion perception capabilities, is as competent as an experienced driver. It can discover parking spaces and autonomously park without the need for self-learning, truly achieving "see and park."
