On May 25th, at the recent OpenHarmony developer conference, Yu Chengdong stated that 2024 is the most important year for HarmonyOS.

Previously, Yu Chengdong announced that the number of HarmonyOS ecosystem devices has exceeded 800 million, with brand awareness as high as 88%. In just one month, HarmonyOS 4.2 has seen an upgrade of over 20 million users, with a satisfaction increase of 11%.

In early April this year, Huawei officially released data showing that over 4000 apps have joined the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

Compared to the initial 200 apps announced on January 18th, this means that in just two months, the number of native HarmonyOS apps has grown 20 times.

Previously, Huawei's rotating chairman Xu Zhijun announced an ambitious plan: to fully migrate 5000 commonly used mobile apps to the HarmonyOS within a year.

He mentioned that by 2024, he hopes to completely migrate 5000 apps, which account for over 99% of mobile usage time in the Chinese market, to the native HarmonyOS to achieve unity between the operating system and the app ecosystem.

According to Xu Zhijun, "When we migrate these 5000 apps and thousands of other apps from the Android ecosystem to HarmonyOS, HarmonyOS will truly become the world's third mobile operating system after Apple's iOS and Google's Android." s_09c85d3dcb46435b94fdee4ed6a6f35b.jpg
