On March 12th, safety proved to be the ultimate luxury in a harrowing incident involving a Wanjie M7 user. The driver shared a heart-stopping experience, recounting an event where they were cruising on the highway at 120km/h when the car in front unexpectedly dropped a metallic object. Without time to react, they collided with the object, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle.

The impact was so severe that it punctured the battery pack, causing smoke but fortunately no fire. This incident underscores the critical importance of vehicle safety and the potential risks even at high speeds. 6d298691-a5c8-4d40-97c0-035d8682772f.jpg Vehicle Owner's Account: After running over a metal block, the tire burst, and the wheel hub was deformed under pressure. Subsequently, the rebounding metal block punctured the fuel tank and battery pack. A whole tank of fuel leaked out, and there was also leakage from the battery, accompanied by smoke. Fortunately, there was no combustion.

Within minutes of the vehicle encountering the accident, the backend detected battery abnormalities. The staff promptly contacted the car owner for notification. Simultaneously, the rescue personnel from the user center swiftly arrived at the scene and towed the vehicle away. Sfe680ac5-3d18-4e31-86ed-774e44ac8abf.jpg

A substantial impact punctured the underside of the M7's battery pack, causing damage to the external protective panels and the surrounding metal casing. The aluminum alloy wheels also suffered severe deformation, indicating the intense and perilous nature of the situation at that time. Sdf303eaa-7726-4acd-9e11-07b0ba9ac982.png

It's worth noting that while many OEMs purchase battery cells from CATL, they handle the packaging of battery packs themselves. In a meeting last year, CATL boldly proclaimed "Ask About the Safest Battery" and provided the following details:

  • High energy density of the battery cells, leading in the field of extended-range vehicles.
  • Ultra-high power, industry-leading in the extended-range vehicle sector.
  • High mechanical reliability – reinforced CTP box design with high mechanical strength. 604c5ecb-843d-4ce0-9a8d-4c165ec4c83d.jpg
