Christian Senger, head of Volkswagen's autonomous driving unit, said that they are working on developing the first fully autonomous production car available to the mass market, and will use Mobileye's self-driving system. S1f56d1ed-5ade-4f8a-83ef-736011987f71.png

The system will invariably be connected to the internet to tap into collective data from other road users and keep tabs on what’s happening beyond its own line of sight.

To ensure the vehicle can form a 360-degree image of its surroundings at all times, it will employ 13 cameras, nine lidar sensors, five radar units, and two separate high-performance computers.
