Volkswagen ID.4 Price Drops to 139,800 Yuan! Germans Might Feel Envious as It's Twice the Price in China

On March 10th, it was announced that FAW-Volkswagen is launching the ID.4 CROZZ three-year anniversary edition, available for a limited time starting at just 139,800 CNY.

As a compact all-electric SUV from Volkswagen in China, the market guidance price ranges from 195,800 to 283,300 CNY. With this new model, the price has effectively dropped by 56,000 CNY. s_0534ef9550f44d82a37f80a77cf3defe.png However, what's more noteworthy is that the Volkswagen ID.4 is priced at 36,900 euros in Germany (approximately 290,000 RMB), which means that the German price is double that of the Chinese price.

As a German-developed electric vehicle, it's quite surprising that the Volkswagen ID.4 is priced twice as much domestically in Germany compared to China, which has left many German netizens discontent.

A similar situation can be seen with the ID.3. The Volkswagen ID.3 starts at 39,900 euros in Germany (approximately 314,800 RMB), while in the Chinese market, it starts at just 15,200 euros, making the German price more than double that of China's.

Many Germans are bluntly stating that "Volkswagen is joking with Germans," "Electric cars are a scam, they have nothing special and are only applicable to German idiots," "Germans are subsidizing Chinese people by purchasing the ID.3 for 40,000 euros when they could get it for just 16,000 euros," and "Germans should stop buying Volkswagen cars."

Furthermore, what's even more outrageous is that some German dealerships have discovered price differences between the ID series electric cars in the Chinese and German markets, leaving room for arbitrage.

One German dealership imported 22 Volkswagen ID.6 models from China, which are not only priced lower but also have more space, even cheaper than the local ID.4 models.

However, when Volkswagen Germany discovered this, they immediately filed a lawsuit against the dealership and demanded that they destroy this batch of vehicles. s_c53c6607ef5547dbabdc51beaaedb96a.png
