On May 25, 2024, the main event of Beijing Science and Technology Week kicked off at Shougang Park in Shijingshan District. In the intelligent manufacturing themed area, humanoid robots attracted a crowd of spectators of all ages. Exhibitors explained that the chest cavity of the humanoid robot houses a self-developed intelligent robot computing unit, capable of easily completing the entire closed loop from perception, decision-making to motion control.

It is reported that this year's Beijing Science and Technology Week main event is themed "Promoting the Spirit of Scientists and Inspiring Innovation Throughout Society." The activities cover industries such as next-generation information technology, medical health, and intelligent manufacturing. Through high-end interactive science popularization experiences, the event aims to bring scientific achievements closer to the public, enhancing the appeal and educational effectiveness of science popularization.
In particular, the next-generation information technology exhibition area focuses on showcasing innovations in artificial intelligence algorithms and models, rapid iteration, large-scale quantum cloud computing clusters, 6G research and development supporting ubiquitous sensing intelligence, and ubiquitous connectivity applications. The person in charge of the PaddlePaddle industrial deep learning platform exhibition introduced that as of April 2024, the PaddlePaddle ecosystem has attracted 12.95 million developers, serving 244,000 enterprises and institutions, and creating 895,000 models.
"This surgical robot will be a great help to doctors, capable of simulating the surgical techniques of hospital experts, completing sub-millimeter guide tubes, guide wires, balloons, and stent placements through remote operations, while also protecting doctors from X-ray hazards." At the medical health exhibition area, Tian Wei, Chief Operating Officer of Beijing Weimai Medical Technology Co., Ltd., introduced that the adjacent machine is a medical vascular angiography X-ray machine, which can help doctors see the tiny blood vessels inside the patient's body.

Here you can see the FAST located in Guizhou, which is the world's largest single-dish radio telescope; here you can see the EAST in Hefei, Anhui, known as the "artificial sun"; here you can see the research vessel "Science" for comprehensive oceanic scientific exploration, simulating the unique charm of deep-sea scientific research." In the interactive science experience theme area, visitors can use VR equipment under the guidance of a guide to gain a deeper understanding of China's cutting-edge major scientific facilities.

Digital figures such as Gu Ailing, Milu, Dong Hao, and Xu Mengtao have successively appeared at the main venue of Beijing Science and Technology Week. The head of the exhibiting company, Beijing Yuankeshijie Technology Co., Ltd., introduced: "This is a set of 4D dynamic light field reconstruction system, mainly composed of fully autonomous 6-color programmable LED light sources and camera arrays. It can achieve high-precision modeling of real people, high-precision spatial reconstruction, and reproduce sub-millimeter level details such as facial pores."
According to the "China Science Daily," it was learned from the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Zhongguancun Management Committee that this year's Beijing Science and Technology Week not only provided a comprehensive display platform for the public but also carried out a variety of featured activities, including the "Power of Science and Technology" exploration exhibition, "Science First Scene" coverage of Science and Technology Week, thematic tours of Beijing Science and Technology Week, special science popularization activities, and the Beijing Science and Technology Week online exhibition hall. In addition to the main activities at the Beijing Science and Technology Week venue in Shougang Park, Shijingshan District, various districts of Beijing, member units of the Science Popularization Joint Committee, science popularization bases, and others are also concurrently hosting a rich variety of Science and Technology Week activities.
