Taipei and California, USA - March 13, 2024 -- Unigroup Microelectronics, a global leader in NAND flash memory controller chips, announced today the release of the UFS (Universal Flash Storage) 4.0 controller chip SM2756. As the flagship product of the most widely used UFS controller chip solution series in the industry, it meets the growing demand for artificial intelligence smartphones and other high-performance applications, including automotive and edge computing. Additionally, the second-generation SM2753 UFS3.1 controller chip has been introduced to expand its product portfolio, supporting standards from UFS4.0 to UFS2.2. It offers the optimal balance of high performance and power efficiency, meeting the all-day computing demands of today's high-end AI mobile devices. The SM2756 achieves sequential read performance of over 4,300 MB/s and sequential write speeds of over 4,000 MB/s, supporting the widest range of 3D TLC and QLC NAND flash with capacities up to 2TB.

The new second-generation SM2753 UFS 3.1 controller chip solution adopts the MIPI M-PHY HS-Gear4x2-Lane standard and SCSI architecture model (SAM) for unprecedented performance. Following the success of the SM2754 UFS3 controller chip, the SM2753 features a single-channel design, utilizing next-generation 3D TLC and QLC NAND to deliver 2150 MB/s sequential read performance and 1900 MB/s sequential write performance, meeting the growing demand for UFS3.0 in current smartphone, IoT, and automotive applications.

Huirong Technology's latest UFS controller chip solution incorporates advanced LDPC ECC technology with SRAM data error detection and correction capabilities, enhancing data reliability, improving performance, and reducing power consumption. The latest UFS controller chip solution supports the widest range of NAND, including the latest 3D TLC and QLC NAND products from all leading flash manufacturers.

UFS 3.1 SM2753:

  • Complies with JEDEC UFS 3.1 standard and supports HS-Gear-4 dual-channel, MPHY 4.1, and UniPro 1.8 standards
  • Single-channel NAND flash controller chip, supporting 1.8V/1.2V I/O operations and Toggle DDR 5.1 / ONFI 5.1 NAND
  • LDPC ECC engine, supporting low-power decoding mode for high error correction through soft information
  • Sequential read/write performance: 2150MB/s / 1900MB/s
  • Currently in mass production
