Unfair Competition Not Tolerable: Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to Strictly Combat Unfair Competition in the New Energy Vehicle Industry

On March 17th, news from the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum held in Beijing, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Shan Zhongde, announced that there will be a strict crackdown on unfair competition within the new energy vehicle industry.

Discussing the new energy vehicle industry, he stated that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will refine its policy system, continuously optimize the industry structure and ecosystem, further strengthen the overall planning and investment guidance of the industry, and curb blind investment and redundant construction.

Additionally, efforts will be accelerated to introduce the management regulations for motor vehicle production admission, perfect the mechanism for the exit of backward enterprises, initiate pilot projects on conglomerate management, and support leading enterprises in enhancing quality, reducing costs, merging, and restructuring to become stronger and larger.

Furthermore, the ministry aims to increase the industry's concentration, guiding traditional automobile enterprises to open up for cooperation based on their technological and channel advantages and accelerate transformation.

In conclusion, he emphasized that there will be a severe crackdown on unfair competitive practices to maintain a fair and just market order.

During the forum, the head of the National Development and Reform Commission also expressed that more practical measures would be taken to support the development of enterprises in the new energy vehicle industry.
