On April 10th, the 40th Chinese Antarctic Expedition Team, aboard the "Snow Dragon" vessel, docked in Qingdao. Ge Jian and Wang Qihang, both from the School of Automation at Southeast University, successfully completed their scientific research tasks and returned with the team. A welcoming event was held at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center Pier by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Shandong Provincial People's Government. Following the welcoming event, "Snow Dragon 2" and "Snow Dragon" vessels hosted open days lasting 5 and 3 days respectively, allowing local communities to visit.

On November 1st, 2023, the 40th Chinese Antarctic Expedition Team set sail from Shanghai aboard the "Snow Dragon," "Snow Dragon 2," and "Tianhui" ships. Ge Jian and Wang Qihang were among the expedition members. They upgraded and maintained the "SEU Extreme Energy 2.0" at the Kunlun Station, significantly improving the utilization of green energy and contributing to the protection of the Antarctic environment. Additionally, they maintained the "SEU Extreme Energy" system installed at the Taishan Station, providing uninterrupted power supply to relevant research equipment through remote control and automation. They also assisted the expedition team in completing other related tasks.

It is reported that in recent years, Southeast University has sent faculty and students to participate in the 36th, 39th, and 40th Chinese Antarctic Expeditions. They have deployed the "SEU Extreme Energy" polar unmanned intelligent power supply system, which provides stable and reliable power supply, environmental support, and communication links for equipment at Antarctic research sites. So far, Southeast University has dispatched a total of 11 individuals to complete relevant research tasks at the Kunlun Station, Taishan Station, and Zhongshan Station, contributing continuously to China's polar scientific exploration efforts.
