Tsinghua University: More than 8,000 Students Engaged in Overseas Exchanges in 2023, Reaching Historic High

On April 13th, Tsinghua University celebrated its 113th anniversary, with officials releasing a dedication entitled "Embarking on a New Journey, Presenting a New Outlook, and Striving to Compose the Tsinghua Chapter of High-Quality Development."

The dedication noted that in 2023, over 8,000 Tsinghua students participated in academic and cultural exchanges abroad, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

Simultaneously, Tsinghua University successfully hosted the inaugural International Academic Forum on Ancient Scripts and Chinese Civilization and the 11th World Peace Forum. It continues to expand its high-level research cooperation network with world-class universities and deepen its collaborative technological efforts with leading international enterprises.

Tsinghua University also actively expands its cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, further strengthening exchanges and cooperation with key countries and regions such as the United States, Russia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, fully leveraging the university's unique role in cultural exchange and people-to-people connectivity.

Tsinghua University stated that it is becoming increasingly confident in its path of talent cultivation. The employment rate of the 2023 graduates in key sectors reached as high as 83%, with a large number of Tsinghua students shining in places where the party and the people need them.

According to records, Tsinghua University, formerly known as Tsinghua Xuetang, was founded in 1911 and renamed Tsinghua School in 1912. In 1928, it was renamed as National Tsinghua University.

After the nationwide adjustment of higher education institutions in 1952, Tsinghua University became a multi-disciplinary industrial university focusing on training engineering and technical talents for the country, earning the title of the "cradle of the Red Engineers."
