On April 16th, Toyota reiterated its commitment to hydrogen energy research, considering it a crucial avenue for development.

Toyota's Chairman, Akio Toyoda, has repeatedly stated that battery electric vehicles are not the sole path to achieving carbon neutrality. Over the past three years, Toyota has focused its efforts on hydrogen engine research.

Toyoda has long been skeptical of electric cars. He believes the slowdown in company sales proves his resistance to electric vehicles was justified, as people are beginning to recognize the "reality" of this technology.

He points out that the automotive industry is realizing there are multiple ways to reduce carbon emissions, not just limited to electric cars.

According to reports, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and NASA recently signed an agreement for Toyota to develop a new pressurized lunar rover for manned and unmanned lunar exploration.

Since 2019, Toyota has been collaborating with JAXA. The new pressurized lunar rover, called the Lunar Cruiser, is expected to be delivered by 2031 and will be capable of driving on the moon. Astronauts can work and live on the moon without spacesuits for up to one month in a pressurized environment. The rover can travel a maximum of 8 hours per day for up to 6 consecutive days. s_9482004d860543dca90535d48f1b0bb8.jpg
