The other day, China's first domestically developed and airworthy-certified "flying taxi," the EHang EH216-S, was listed on Taobao with a price tag of 2.39 million CNY.
This "flying taxi" is a fully intelligent unmanned aerial vehicle that can carry two people, perform fully intelligent low-altitude flight and vertical take-off and landing, without the need for a runway.
The EH216-S has a fuselage length of 5.73 meters, a height of 1.93 meters, can be fully charged within 2 hours, has a maximum flight speed of 130 kilometers per hour, an endurance time of 25 minutes, and a design range of 30 kilometers.
All critical flight components adopt a full-redundancy design, including the flight control system, various sensors, power system, and battery and its management system. Multiple sets of backups are provided to maximize safety.
It is understood that the EH216-S can be widely used in manned transportation, sightseeing, logistics, and emergency medical services. So far, it has completed more than 40,000 safe flights in 14 countries worldwide.
