Apple has introduced the spatial computing headset Vision Pro, creating a new product category under its umbrella. The device made its debut at last year's WWDC conference and was later released to American users at a steep price of $3499. Over the weekend, Apple's CEO Tim Cook shared his thoughts on the new experience provided by Vision Pro on his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), stating that it brings an "emotional" experience to users trying it for the first time. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0526%2F15f00034j00se2srw0019d000hs00bug.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg Before Cook's response, the global non-profit organization for design and art direction (D&AD) awarded Apple's VisionOS operating system the "Black Pencil" in the "Digital Design" category. The Black Pencil is the highest honor among D&AD's various awards, which include the Wood Pencil, Graphite Pencil, and Yellow Pencil.

Since 1962, the organization has been presenting Pencil awards, with the Black Pencil specifically designed for "groundbreaking work." Only a very small number of works receive this award each year. Apple's Vision Pro has garnered significant attention from both the media and the public. Prior to its official release, the Cupertino giant had strict access restrictions for the product, allowing only limited demonstrations in Apple stores.

Although the device is not intended for use on the go, early adopters were seen wearing the product on subways, streets, and even inside the Cybertruck. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0526%2F26deb841j00se2srw009pd000hs00o1g.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg

Priced at $3499 and lacking an internal battery, this headset cannot be tracked using Apple's "Find My" app.

The Vision Pro is expected to launch in more countries later this year, but its popularity seems to have waned after the initial hype. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the company has reduced shipments of the Vision Pro.
