On April 20th, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the "Work Plan for Deepening the Scale Deployment and Application of IPv6 in 2024."

The following work objectives are specified:

By the end of 2024, the number of active IPv6 users will reach 800 million, the number of IPv6 connections for the Internet of Things will reach 650 million, the proportion of IPv6 traffic on fixed networks will reach 23%, and the proportion of IPv6 traffic on mobile networks will reach 65%.

Significant improvements in IPv6 network performance and noticeable enhancements in user experience.

Cloud services, content delivery networks, and data centers will default to IPv6 functionality upon service activation.

The support rate for IPv6 on major commercial websites and mobile internet applications will reach 95%, and the integration of IPv6 in various industries will become more extensive.

There will be a substantial increase in the penetration rate of IPv6 on fixed networks, with IPv6 enabled by default on newly manufactured home routers, set-top boxes, and other terminal devices, and a significant increase in the IPv6 activation rate of existing home routers, as well as a significant improvement in the IPv6 activation rate of internet dedicated lines for enterprise organizations.

Continuous enhancement of IPv6 single-stack support capabilities.

Further expansion of innovative applications in the "IPv6+" technology field.

Continuous improvement of the IPv6 standard system, with 50 national standards for IPv6 initiated.

Additionally, 10 key tasks have been deployed:

Enhance IPv6 network performance and service quality

Including increasing efforts to optimize IPv6 networks, streamlining IPv6 service activation processes, continuously improving IPv6 interconnection levels, and further promoting the transformation of IPv6 in the radio and television networks.

Increase the deployment level of IPv6 in application infrastructure
