This is the True Face: "GTX 2070" Emerges! Odd Fragmented Version

News on April 22nd reveals that before the official release of the RTX 20 series, there were indeed preparations for a series called "GTX 20". It was only at the last moment that the name was changed to usher in the RTX era. We've also seen samples of the "GTX 20" multiple times before, and now a GTX 2070 has surfaced.

Apart from the name, this GTX 2070 FE Founders Edition is almost identical to later RTX 20 FE Founders Editions. The overall color scheme, the radiator design, the 8-pin power connector, and the DVI/HDMI/DP/USB-C ports are all present. s_bea41bd38aa5448b9bf4764d26857f02.jpg The core identifier for both is TU106-400A-A1, but this one has only 2176 CUDA cores, 128 cores less than the RTX 2070 (equivalent to two SM units). It's unclear whether this was the initial specification or if it's a sample issue.

Similar to the later RTX 2060 SUPER, but the latter's core identifier is TU106-410-A1.

It can be successfully flashed with the RTX 2070 400A BIOS, but it can't enable more cores. However, it unlocks the power limit, allowing for further overclocking.

In the end, it achieved a 16% performance boost through overclocking, falling short of the RTX 2070 by only about 5%. s_5eb2423d16f14af9adef6115cf1112a3.jpg
