On March 27th, it was revealed that vivo unveiled its highly anticipated dual-fold screen powerhouse, the vivo X Fold3 series.
During the demonstration at the launch event, there was a small incident where Huang Tao, the Vice President of vivo's product department, showcased the phone's freeze resistance by taking it out of ice and was found to have a blooming screen.
Officially, the rapid response clarified that it was just a reflection, with Huang Tao returning to the scene to demonstrate and releasing the full video footage. From the footage, it's evident that the so-called "screen distortion" was merely the reflection of the phone screen under the complex lighting conditions of the press conference. With a slight angle adjustment, the screen appeared intact and undamaged.
Huang Tao himself also commented on the matter, stating, "Indeed, it was just a screen reflection. I can only say that I chose a too tricky angle at that moment."
He further emphasized, "What's there to worry about for the top-quality department in the Greater Bay Area?"
Reportedly, this latest vivo X Fold3 series not only sees upgrades in specifications and weight reduction but also significantly enhances the durability of the foldable screen.
The vivo X Fold3 comes with IPX4 waterproof rating, while the vivo X Fold3 Pro takes it up a notch to IPX8, making it the highest waterproof rating among mainstream smartphones. This advancement ensures that foldable screens are no longer delicate, transforming them into practical and reliable devices.
It also pioneered the semi-solid-state battery technology, addressing low-temperature battery life issues right from the source of battery materials. Even in environments as cold as -20 degrees Celsius, it maintains stable discharge performance.
The impact resistance has been boosted to 11 times that of the previous generation, thanks to the ultra-reliable Armor Feather architecture. Officially, the impact resistance is claimed to reach military-grade standards. For folding, it also features carbon fiber ultra-durable lightweight hinges, certified with TÜV Rheinland's 500,000-fold folding assurance.
