Recently, most of the leaks about Apple's iPhone series devices have revolved around the all-new iPhone 16 series. At the same time, Apple's next-generation iPhone SE device is also getting closer to its official release.
According to the leaks, the brand-new iPhone SE 4 is set to be launched next year, with details of the new product gradually emerging.
The messaging so far indicates that the device positioning of the iPhone SE 4 is "budget-oriented." As a result, while it features a completely new design, it is also expected to come at a slightly lower price point compared to the flagship series.
However, at the same time, the "lower pricing" of the iPhone SE 4 is relative, and the latest leaks suggest that there is a possibility of its actual pricing increasing.
According to sources, the latest leak reveals that the price of the new generation iPhone SE in the U.S. market may stay at $429 (approximately 3100 RMB), or it could increase by around 10%, but it will not exceed $499 (approximately 3610 RMB).
However, this price increase is not expected to apply to other markets. Outside the U.S. market, the expected increase is around 15%.
Referring to the current iPhone SE 3, which starts at 3499 yuan for a modest 64GB storage. Opting for a more common 256GB configuration would push the price up to 4700 yuan.
If the rumored price increase holds true, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 could be priced higher than 3499 yuan, possibly nearing the 4000 yuan mark.
Certainly, with adjustments in product positioning, the starting storage capacity of the iPhone SE 4 is likely to see an upgrade. This could potentially mitigate the impact of price hikes on product sales.
Based on the current leaks, the new iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch LTPS OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. The dimensions of the device are 148.5 x 71.2 x 7.8 millimeters, weighing 166 grams. It will be constructed with 7000 series aluminum alloy and have glass panels on the front and back.
The front design resembles the iPhone 13, while the back design is similar to the iPhone XR, featuring only a single camera lens.
Based on the recently leaked renders, the front of the iPhone SE 4 features a screen with a center-aligned notch housing the camera and Face ID sensor components.
This means that the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will officially do away with the Touch ID Home button in favor of Face ID. For users who prefer physical buttons, they may need to consider sticking with the iPhone SE 3.
On the back of the device, there is a camera area where a lens and flash module are arranged horizontally. Unlike previous models, there is no integrated camera module; instead, the lens is individually placed. The rear camera sensor is larger than its predecessor, and the connection between the sensor and the back panel is smoother.
In terms of imaging specifications, the iPhone SE 4 will feature an IMX503 camera with a 1/2.55-inch sensor and an f/1.8 aperture. It supports 1080P Cinematic mode, Deep Fusion, Smart HDR, AI scene photography, and portrait mode, but does not support Night mode.
Previous leaks have suggested that the iPhone SE 4 will introduce customizable operation buttons for users. However, based on the details shown in the leaked renders, it appears that this area may still feature a toggle-style mute switch.
Combining with past information, the all-new iPhone SE 4 adopts the same flat-edged design as the current iPhone series, and the bottom of the device features a USB-C port.
In terms of core specifications, it features the Apple A16 Bionic chip, equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 modem, Apple U1 UWB chip, 6GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB / 512GB NVMe storage.
It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C 2.0, a battery capacity of over 3000mAh, 20W wired charging, and 12W wireless charging.
