The Second China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliance Working Conference Held

The second China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliance working conference was held at Sanya College, Hainan Province from April 26th to 27th.

Xiru, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Chinese Ministry of Education, pointed out that the 13 China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliances, as the world's largest network of university cooperation, have achieved fruitful results through in-depth cooperation and exchanges in various fields. It is hoped that through this conference, universities will continuously enhance the level of cooperation within and between the alliances, deepen collaboration, and increase the value of the alliance platform, accelerating the institutionalization, mechanization, and branding of alliance operations.

Yu Changxue, Director of the China Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Chinese Ministry of Education, emphasized that the implementation of the China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliance development plan is an important project for promoting educational cooperation between China and Russia. He hopes that all universities can plan and implement relevant projects effectively to achieve new successes in talent cultivation, scientific research, social services, digital education, and other areas.

In his address, Markirevsky, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation, highlighted that the China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliance is one of the most successful mechanisms for cooperation between the two countries' universities. Currently, Russia and China have achieved fruitful cooperation in higher education, particularly in joint training, joint education, and student exchanges.

Zhao Zhongxiu, President of the University of International Business and Economics, noted that this working conference is the second meeting following the first China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliance Forum hosted by the University of International Business and Economics in 2022. In the future, the China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliance will further implement a series of important cooperation agreements and intentions reached by the education ministries of both countries, actively engage with relevant sister schools, innovate mechanisms and methods, strive to inject new impetus into the alliance's development, and make new contributions to the economic and social development of both countries and the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in the new era.

During the conference, the Chinese and Russian Secretariat meetings of the China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliance were held. The Secretariats of the 13 university alliances presented their achievements, issues, thoughts on strengthening and deepening exchanges and cooperation within the alliance, shared their work experiences, excellent cases, and suggestions, and discussed future alliance initiatives.

It is reported that with the support of the China Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, the working conference was jointly organized by the University of International Business and Economics and the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics of Russia, with Sanya College and leading Chinese universities of the alliances as co-organizers. The China-Russia Consortium of Universities Alliance consists of 13 university alliances classified by discipline or region, involving over 700 participating institutions, making it the world's largest higher education exchange and cooperation network, actively contributing to deepening cultural exchanges between China and Russia.
