Fans eagerly awaiting the Galaxy Z Fold 6 upgrade might be in for a disappointment. It is rumored that Samsung's upcoming foldable phone will feature the same set of cameras as its 2023 predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 5. This reportedly applies to both the front and rear cameras of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Reliable leaker IceUniverse claims that the camera specs of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 are not something to look forward to, as it appears they will remain consistent with those of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, at least in terms of hardware. This suggests that while there may not be hardware changes for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, there could be some new software features.
If the rumors hold true, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will feature a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP 3x telephoto camera. The under-display front camera is said to have a resolution of 4MP, while the cover screen's selfie camera is speculated to be 10MP.
In response to a user's comment, IceUniverse also mentioned that Samsung might reserve all the camera upgrades for the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, helping it stand out from competitors and its own base model. Additionally, there are rumors that Samsung might also launch an entry-level Galaxy Z Fold 6.
IceUniverse previously revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is speculated to feature a built-in 4400mAh battery, supporting 25W wired charging, which aligns with the Galaxy Z Fold 5. As for the processor, it is expected that all models will be equipped with Samsung's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Galaxy SoC.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 6 for the first time at its second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. Rumors suggest that this event will take place before the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics, likely in July.
