From May 17th to 25th, the Shenyang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and its various units held the Public Science Day event with the theme "Twenty Years of Forge, New Scientific Journey."
At the opening ceremony on May 18th, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of the Shenyang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yu Haibin, delivered a popular science lecture titled "Robots Leading the New Era of Technology," starting from the past and present of robots, guiding children to explore the world of robots.
During the Public Science Day event, the Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences prepared a variety of scientific experience activities, including themed activities such as "The Return of Shi Changxu" murder mystery, "Adding Gold to the Top" garden party, "Making the List" popular science quiz, etc. These activities use entertaining games to tell the patriotic stories of scientists, educate the public about materials knowledge in major national projects, and engage the public through participation in science games, stamp collection, hidden surprises, and other forms to promote public interest in science and popularize scientific knowledge.

The Institute of Applied Ecology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shenyang showcased its achievements in the field of ecological environment to the public and young people through popular science lectures, scientific carnivals, Q&A sessions, etc., enabling the public to understand knowledge about plants, animals, microorganisms, as well as issues related to air, water, soil pollution, and food safety. Through on-site participation in experiments, the public gained insights into the wonders of daily life, leading to a very active response at the event.
The Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shenyang conducted a series of popular science lectures on robots and artificial intelligence, a scientific stage play "Robot World Adventure", science fairs, technology exhibitions, a journey through the spirit of scientists, and activities such as collecting fun stamps. They opened the institute's history museum, the education base for the spirit of scientists, and the education base for party members to the public, allowing them to step into science, understand it, and love it.
