At its peak, Royole Technology was valued at over 50 billion, but after the glory, it went downhill like a roller coaster, with news of financial chain rupture, salary arrears, and even bankruptcy application earlier this year.
However, Royole Technology is still persevering in self-rescue. Today, they issued a statement clarifying rumors such as "going public just to raise money."
Royole stated that over the years, some false statements have persisted and been maliciously spread, severely damaging the reputation of the company and individual team members, infringing on their legitimate rights and interests.
The official statement specifically clarifies some of the seriously false claims.
It is mentioned that when Royole first mass-produced foldable screens in 2018, considering the maturity of the industry and the pioneering stage of the foldable screen smartphone industry, the company decided to simultaneously launch B2B and B2C strategies to accelerate product entry into the market and improve the upstream and downstream industry chain. They introduced their own brand of flexible foldable screen phones. At that time, the decision not to cooperate with downstream mobile brand customers in a timely manner was a strategic choice for the company, not a technical issue.
In fact, in 2020, Royole had received orders for foldable screens from a well-known domestic mobile brand, but due to commercial conditions, the collaboration was not continued.
Royole has since collaborated with the well-known brand VERTU to provide ODM/OEM services for two generations of VERTU foldable smartphones, all featuring Royole's foldable screen technology and hardware and software design.
In addition to the smartphone market, Royole has been actively exploring innovative applications in other industries. The company has previously collaborated with hundreds of corporate clients, including Airbus, Louis Vuitton, CRRC, and Luzhou Laojiao, spanning across consumer electronics, smart transportation, smart home, office, education, and other sectors, receiving high praise and recognition from numerous customers.
