On May 20th, a well-known source in the mobile chip industry revealed that the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 will be manufactured using TSMC's cutting-edge 3nm process, with vivo being the first global brand to launch a device powered by this chip.

The Dimensity 9400 by MediaTek features the Blackhawk architecture and is built on the Armv9 instruction set, which is hailed as Arm's most significant innovation in the past decade.

Leveraging the ARMv9 instruction set, Arm has introduced a new shared unit, the DSU-110, which allows for different ARMv9 CPUs to be combined in various cluster configurations, enhancing bandwidth, reducing latency, and lowering power consumption at existing frequencies.

Moreover, the Dimensity 9400's debut of the Arm Blackhawk architecture, based on the Armv9 instruction set, has significantly boosted the performance of the Cortex-X5 super core.

Specifically, the Dimensity 9400 processor consists of 1 Cortex-X5 core, 3 Cortex-X4 cores, and 4 Cortex-A720 cores, with the X5 and X4 cores delivering impressive CPU performance.

Its IPC has surpassed that of the Apple A17 Pro, indicating that at the same frequency, the Dimensity 9400's performance will outshine Apple's A series.

Following tradition, the vivo X200 series will be the first to feature the Dimensity 9400. In recent years, the relationship between vivo and MediaTek has grown closer, with vivo consistently being the first to globally debut top-tier processors. Additionally, vivo will also be involved in the development of the Dimensity 9000 series chips.

Therefore, the performance of the Dimensity 9400 is highly anticipated. s_bb60e0b4e0bc4662acfd924b61f15cb2.jpg
