On March 18th, Qualcomm officially unveiled the Snapdragon 8s Gen3, named the third generation Snapdragon 8s in Chinese.

During the event, Qualcomm directly announced that the Xiaomi Civi 4 series would debut globally with this processor.

The reason for naming it the third generation Snapdragon 8s is because it is entirely derived from the third generation Snapdragon 8, using a 4nm process. Its CPU consists of 1×3.0GHz Cortex-X4 + 4×2.8GHz Cortex-A720 + 3×2.0GHz Cortex-A520, with a GPU of Adreno 735. s_3d6ce61cf5c74aa88af61be5db528598.jpg In terms of the CPU, it's fully aligned with the architecture of the third-generation Snapdragon 8. As for the GPU, it mirrors the second-generation Snapdragon 8, and it supports brand-new hardware ray tracing, along with Adreno Image Motion Engine 2.0. Overall performance is at the peak flagship level.

For connectivity, the third-generation Snapdragon 8s is equipped with the FastConnect 7800 mobile connectivity platform and X70 5G modem, supporting 3GPP 5G Release 17 features. It's currently the strongest generation available from Qualcomm in terms of mass production and market availability, capable of achieving speeds up to 10Gbps in 5G transmission.

In terms of imaging, it also integrates an 18-bit triple ISP, supporting real-time semantic segmentation for both photos and videos, low-light shooting, and AI-assisted imaging features such as automatic exposure, autofocus, and facial detection.

Of course, it wouldn't miss out on the current industry craze for AI performance. It supports leading models like Baichuan-7B, Gemini Nano, Llama 2, and Zhipu ChatGLM, with a maximum parameter count of 10 billion, enabling functionalities such as AI assistants and AI image generation.

The Xiaomi Civi 4 series, as the debut model, is set to be unveiled in March. Additionally, other manufacturers such as Honor, iQOO, realme, and Redmi will also launch corresponding models. s_3eb93fb35e3c42ca8c89da988dcf3341.png
