Pulsestacks reported on May 21st that blogger Darkmont released documents from Synopsys and JEDEC regarding the next generation DDR6 / LPDDR6 memory standards.
DDR6 Memory
The document indicates that DDR6 memory will have memory speeds ranging from 8.8Gbps to 17.6Gbps, with a potential extension up to 21Gbps. The standard draft is set to be released this year, with the 1.0 version specification expected to be announced in the second quarter of next year.
LPDDR6 Memory
The document shows that the LPDDR6 memory channel has a 24-bit width, with an initial data rate of 10.667Gbps and a maximum defined rate of 14.4Gbps.
LPDDR6 memory speed will exceed 10Gbps, with a bandwidth of up to 28.5-38.4GB/s, further enhancing low power consumption and security.
In addition, JEDEC is also researching the LPDDR6 CAMM2 module and its applications in desktop and server platforms.
