It's worth noting that if this turns out to be the case, it could signal a reversal of Samsung's decision to reduce memory capacity, a trend that started with the Galaxy S22 Ultra and continued through the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
According to the latest leak from X (formerly Twitter) user Sawyer Galox, the Galaxy S25 Ultra may come with 4GB more RAM than the current Galaxy S24 Ultra. The information is said to be sourced from specifications of a prototype currently under testing.
Samsung had previously offered 16GB of RAM on the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy S21 Ultra; however, with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, they reduced it to 12GB without providing a clear reason. Now, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to feature 16GB of RAM, as there are speculations that Samsung's next flagship will utilize Gemini Nano v2, requiring more memory for enhanced processing power.
According to leaked information, only the 512GB and 1TB versions of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with 16GB of RAM. However, the larger memory in the prototype does not guarantee that we will get more memory in the retail version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The leaker also mentioned that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a 6.9-inch display. In comparison, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch display.
Samsung is also expected to equip the 2025 Galaxy S25 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 For Galaxy processor. Samsung may also introduce more artificial intelligence features under its "Galaxy AI" lineup for its 2025 flagship devices, which would require larger memory. Additionally, there are rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will continue to offer a 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging, similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
