According to pulsestacks on April 24th, despite being on the market for 14 years, the iPad has not had a built-in calculator in its iPadOS system. However, this situation is finally set to change this year. The latest news suggests that Apple is planning to introduce a native calculator app for iPad devices. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0424%2Ff0bc743aj00scf2sm000pd000m800cig.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg Apple officially announced last night that a special event titled "Take Flight" will be held on May 7th, where they are expected to unveil the 2024 models of iPad Pro / Air and accessories. It is anticipated that we will also hear many new updates about iPadOS 18 during this event.

As reported by Pulsestacks earlier, Apple is also planning to simultaneously revamp the calculator application in the macOS system. The last major design update for this application on the macOS platform dates back to approximately a decade ago.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the new version of the calculator app currently undergoing internal testing at Apple is codenamed "GreyParrot" (named after the African Grey Parrot known for its intelligence and cognitive abilities).

In addition to the previously reported "Math Notes" feature, the new version of the calculator will also introduce a new history sidebar. This sidebar will provide users with a summary of previous calculations in a sidebar format.
